Summary: | In this work we have studied a design of a miniature three-loop quadrature coupler. Miniaturization of this device is performed by using artificial transmission lines providing the same functions as quaterwave sections. Numerical modeling has been carried out by using 3D electrodynamic modeling software, which allowed to take into consideration a great number of factors that can affect the performance of the device. The center frequency for the design process was set to 1,800 MHz. The operating frequency band begins at 1,605 MHz and ends at 2,012 MHz. The coupler proposed has a size 67.5% smaller than that of a standard design. |
