Summary:The purpose of endoscopic YAG laser therapy for G.I cancer is divided into three groups; 1) radical therapy for early gastric cancer or early colonic cancer, 2) symptomatic treatment for advanced cancer, 3) tumor mass reduction therapy. Symptomatic treatment for bleeding or stenosis in case of advanced cancer is useful. Tumor mass reduction therapy is useful too. 19 cases of inoperable advanced cancer were treated and no side effect was found. It will be one of the most important conservative treatment in the future, especially in the aged.
