Summary: | Since that 65% of the surface managed by the Public Enterprise (PE)
?Vojvodinasume? are in some degree of protection, protected areas management
is one of the key elements in the company?s business policy. The management
of protected areas, especially in the current circumstances of the evident
climate change effects, has become a challenge for nature protection and
other sectors, and therefore also for PE ?Vojvodinasume?. Protected areas
are drivers of the rural economy and a key element in the development of
rural area strategies. The aim of the work is to present examples of
cooperation with stakeholders from the public, private and civil sectors, on
the planning and implementation of activities that contribute to the
sustainable protected areas management. The activities of PE ?Vojvodinasume?
protected areas management include: sustainable management of resources,
protection of biodiversity, conflict resolution, provision of benefits for
society, and especially for the local community, promotion of natural
values, etc. Sustainable management of protected areas in PE ?Vojvodinasume?
implies multifunctional and long-term management that is adapted to local,
i.e. regional conditions. |
