Summary:Isolated inferior rectus transection is a rare outcome of ocular trauma, leading to hypertropia and debilitating diplopia in primary and reading positions. The modified Nishida procedure is an easy-to-perform, minimally traumatizing, reversible, ciliary vessel sparing muscle transposition procedure that is ideal for post-traumatic scenarios. We report our experience with the modified Nishida procedure in a case of a lost inferior rectus after traumatic laceration.
