Summary:The bio-composite materials are compatible with many diversified applications except in marine or submerged instances. An attempt is made in this work to foresee the bio-composite built with Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) as a principal constituent and natural biodegradable fibres (peels of lemon, sweet lime, potato and onion). The project is aimed to build the laminate structure model with the substrate as PLA reinforced with natural fibres using ANSYS Workbench. The simulation test was carried out with various parameters: single impact, uniform pressure, sphere of influence energy absorption. Natural fibre composites were built with a volume fraction of 10%, 20% and 30% of PLA to arrive at optimum results. The computation analysis was carried out using explicit dynamic analysis as a solver and a model of impact analyser was built-in design modeller that is available in ANSYS Workbench. The simulation results are considered for further experimental testing as future work with analytical calculations referred to in ASTM D7136.
