The anionic complexes [olenFe(CO) CN] (olen = butadiene, 1,3-cyclohexadiene, cyclooctatetraene), formed by the reaction of olenFe(CO) with NaN[Si(CH , have been protonated to the isocyanic acid derivates olenFe(CO) CNH, and alkylated with [Et O]BF to give the isonitrile complexes olenFe(CO) CNEt.
