Summary: | The effect of triisopropanolamine(TIPA)on the early strength development and hydration reaction of cement made with low-burning temperature clinker(LTC)was investigated in comparison with that of ordinary Portland cement(OPC)with TIPA. The addition of TIPA to LTC improved the strength development of LTC after 3 days of curing. When mixed with limestone powder, LTC showed a particularly good strength enhancement effect at 28 days of curing with the addition of TIPA compared to OPC. The results of the hydration analysis suggest that the mechanism of strength enhancement by TIPA addition is due to the increased reactivity of the ferrite phase. It was also suggested that different types of calcium aluminate hydration products may influence the strength development. |
