Summary:Noise reduction in weaving mills has gained attention due to recent improvements in working environments. While jet looms, which replaced shuttle looms, initially showed lower noise levels, recent high-speed jet looms exceeding 1000 rpm produce significant noise. It was clarified in the previous reports that one of the noise sources is the collision of healds caused by shedding motion in a jet loom. In this report, the behavior of the heald during one shedding cycle of the room is quantified by imaging with a high-speed camera and video analysis, and the relationship with noise is verified. Especially effects of warp yarn in one heald frame on the healds behavior in the other heald frame is investigated. As a result, it is found that when there is a warp yarn between the healds, the movement of the healds at the horizontal direction can be suppressed to some extent, and the sound by collision of healds is decreased.
