Summary:Recent studies, aimed at photosensitizing gaseous multiplication counters, make the detection of Cerenkov light possible. Multineedle detectors with cathodic focusing which can solve by their structure specific imaging problems, are adapted to detect a ring focused Cerenkov image produced by a single particle. In this article, we study properties of the radiator, analyse the results obtained with this detection apparatus and estimate the quantum efficiency of the detector.
