Summary: | In this work the electronic polarizability of the Nd3+ ion in the Nd(pic)3.3(tmso) and Nd(pic) 3.2(rac-besm) compounds were appraised in acetonitrile and nitromethane solutions. Then they were compared with the b, d, and b1/2 bonding optical parameters in solution. The program WebLab ViewerPro was applied for the construction of the molecular model of these compounds and the obtained experimental data was interpreted. It was observed a strait relationship among the character of the metal-ligand connection, the electronic polarizability and the steric effects, in the studied compounds. |
