Summary: | A Zr‐based metal–organic framework based on the photoreactive linker molecule benzophenone‐4,4’‐dicarboxylic acid has a two‐dimensional layered structure with rhombic‐shaped crystals. The Zr‐bzpdc‐MOF features two interesting pathways for post‐synthetic treatments. The first route makes use of exposed photoreactive keto groups and allows for versatile surface functionalization of the MOF crystals. On the second route, delamination produces ultrathin sheets. These features are excellent prerequisites for shaping MOFs for applications. More information can be found in the Full Paper by A. Mohmeyer et al. on page 12848. |
