Summary:An α‐helical synthetic protein mimetic strategy has been employed to disrupt the HIV TAR RNA‐TAT assembly, which is a prerequisite for the proliferation of HIV virus. The cover picture demonstrates specific targeting of TAR RNA by an oligopyridylamide, which consequently attenuates the effect of HIV on the host cells. This approach is versatile and convenient, owing to the breadth of surface functionalities that could mimic numerous protein surfaces, and has the potential to be applied to a wide range of RNA–protein interactions that are associated with many diseases.
