Summary:The Cover Feature shows a metal nanoparticle modified with the amino acid L‐methionine and the adsorption of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) on the methionine‐capped nanoparticle surface. Methionine‐capped Ag and Au nanoparticles (NPs) were tested as inhibitors of AChE, and they showed moderate inhibitory potential toward AChE. NPs are much larger than enzyme molecules and cannot enter the active site gorge, so inhibition occurs by blockage of the enzyme's active site due to the adsorption of AChE on the surface of the NPs. Ag and Au methionine‐capped NPs have the potential to be further investigated for use in the treatment of cognitive impairment accompanying depression and Alzheimer's disease.
