Summary: | Universities can generate wider benefits on entrepreneurship development and regional competitiveness. To advance understanding of how universities impact on regional innovation and socioeconomic development, this study undertakes a comprehensive review of the book entitled “University evolution, entrepreneurial activity and regional competitiveness” by D. Audretsch, et al. In this review, we characterize with a broad brush of the particular role of academic institutions in the entrepreneurial activities, which is the core theme of the book. The review also informs policy thinking about how to improve entrepreneurial-oriented spirits in academic institutes. |
