Summary:Sialic acids are the derivatives of aminosugar whose parental structures are formed by nine carbons. Recently, the sialic acids have been found to be related to cell malignancy, i.e. the increasing amount of sialic acids on cell membrane, the types of sialic acids, sialyltransferase activity, and sialyltransferase inhibitor can inhibit the tumor metastases. This work tries to explore the tumor-sialic acid relation and the influences of antineoplastic drugs on free sialic acids in mice sera by means of HPLC.
