Summary:In this work we have studied the possible use of dq 0 transformation in combination with discrete wavelet transform (DWT) to implement a fast and selective busbar differential protection algorithm which is suitable for detecting busbar faults and it is not based on Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). We have shown that the proposed solution is fast and stable, regardless of the influence of the Current Saturation (CT) nor transients present in the fault currents.
