Summary:The present study aimed to verify the level of satisfaction appliances fitted with Individual Sound Amplification and followed at a hearing center in the state of Sao Paulo - SP. The sample consisted of 30 participants, of both genders, aged 50 years, adapted with digital hearing aid technology and realizes that currently the monitoring process of adaptation. The materials used understand the Hearing Handicap Questionnaire for Elderly - HHIE, containing 25 multiple choice questions and applied directly. The results revelead that of the 30 study participants 46.6% have perceived hearing handicap, and that 36.7% had mild to moderate perception and 50% had severe or perception significant. Regarding the time of fitting adaptation were 66.7% made use of individual hearing aids for more than six months. Through the results we conclude that though most participants are adapted for more than six months, minimum period of acclimatization, many still feel limited as to the benefits of hearing aids.
