Summary:New results of the X ray research and clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of the blockage at C2–C3 segmental level were compared and considerations on the origin and mechanism of this condition are presented. It appears that it cannot be taken for perseveration of the axis in rotation to the left, but, rather, for the result of reflex response and persisting spasm of the deep spinal musculature on the left side. Correct understanding of these mechanisms is of significance in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this frequent disorder.
