Summary:The article presents a description of the plots associated with the disclosure of the image of Novgorod in the works that were published in the newspapers of 1941–1945. Lyrical and epic texts published in newspapers distributed on the territory of the modern Novgorod region are considered. The attention is drawn to the various loci of the Novgorod land and plots, driven by the need to defeat the fascist conquerors. The image of Novgorod, which is created in essays, stories and poems after it was liberated from the Nazis in 1944, is studied. For the first time, the paper presents the analysis and interpretation of works of various genres written by professional journalists, officers and soldiers associated with the events of the Great Patriotic War on the territory of the modern Novgorod region, as well as residents of the Novgorod region. Analysis of the works of 1941–1945 opens up new opportunities for the development of Novgorod and understanding the specifics of literary works created in the conditions of war and taking into account the requirements of socialist realism.
