Summary:INTRODUCTION: In order to examine the professional self-esteem of nursing students and their satisfaction level in their education, the study was designed in descriptive design METHODS: The study was carried out on 149 nursing students studying at a foundation university in Istanbul. Ethics committee and institution permission were obtained and the data were collected by using Student Satisfaction Scale-Short Form and Arıcak Occupational Self-Esteem Scale. Data were analyzed by percentage, t test, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Mann Whitney U tests. RESULTS: Most of the students were female (82.6%) and 21-23 (45.6%). It was determined that 73.2% of the students chose the profession voluntarily, 59.7% of them chose the profession the family was effective, 91.9% of them thought they would do their job after graduation and 74.5% of the students were not members of the social clubs. The overall average of the student satisfaction scale was 3,43 +- 71, and it was found that the students got the highest (3.68 +- 0,65) of the sub-dimension of the teaching staff (3,68 +- 0,69). The total score of the self-esteem scale was determined as 115,87 +- 18,25. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: It was determined that there was a positive and significant relationship between the students' self-esteem scale and the student satisfaction scale. Students' professional self-esteem is the lowest first class, the highest in the fourth class is determined by choosing the profession voluntarily, who are satisfied with the department and after graduating from the profession of professional self-esteem was found to consider higher self-esteem
