Summary:The recent introduction of the term trickster in political anthropology, enabled pointing out the elements of the discourse on Josip Broz Tito that test the current political context in broadly understood space of the so called yellow press. Understood as a part of folklore, yellow journalism allows researcher to recognize practice of polarization to the past and the present, the age of power and the age of powerlessness, while ambivalent, both glorifying and parodying writing on Josip Broz Tito, result in the creation of subversive text that speaks symbolic language, telling about the current state of the interior and foreign policy of Serbia. Defining political trickterism, pointing out the traits that can serve as heuristic key for identification, the presence of Josip Broz Tito in yellow journalism, is understood as one of the manners that help society to overcome economic, political tensions and unresolved conflicts.
