Summary:In this paper structured linear systems are considered, which represent a large class of parameter dependent linear systems. In particular, structured linear systems are studied that are square and invertible. A complete characterization for the generic zero locations and orders of such systems is derived, consisting of the number of the zeros at s = 0 and s = ∞, respectively, with their orders, and of the number of zeros located elsewhere, which are shown to be simple.
