Summary:Recombinant baculoviruses have became popular expression vectors for heterologous proteins. This review deals with the current status and potential use of baculovirus vectors for the expression of foreign genes in insect cells. Advantages of this invertebrate virus expression vector comparing with bacterial, yeast and mammalian system are proved. Trends in the development of transfer vectors for the expression of heterologus genes and strategies for maximizing levels of expression are discussed.
