Summary:Introduction: With the participation of a sample of sexual worker women from «District of Aguablanca, Cali» was developed this study to answer ¿Which are the aspects of the District of Aguablanca sexual worker women's life that could affect their health and utilization of health care services? Objectives: To understand aspects of sexual worker women's life that influence utilization of health care services and their health care, with the aim of obtaining elements that help to reorganize women's care at health care services. Also to give new elements to design nurse intervention and care. Methodology: Grounded Theory methodology and theoretical sampling was used. In-depth semistructured interviews were conducted with 15 adult participants, all of them were volunteers and gave oral informed consent. This study was approved by the Commitee of Human Research at the University of Valle and met all ethical standards. Results: Principal categories reported: 1. Sexual Work, a not deserved job: To Work on «that»; 2. Legalizing the job: To get a license; 3. Health as economic value and disease as economic disaster. The main category is Stigmatization of sexual worker woman, which is analized with the Paradigm Model. Implications for practicing and future research are presented. It is recommended to give in-depth human care by nurses and to design interventions for offering a different health care to women that work as sexual workers searching for meaning and harmony of the human beings. Conclusion: Women sexual workers are stigmatized because their job, this perception has influence in their access to health care services and their self-care practices and mental health.
