Summary:The phytoseiid mite, Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) cyprioticus, was collected for the first time in Egypt on the buds and leaf stalks of sycamore fig (Ficus sycomorus L., Moraceae), which are habitats where eriophyid mites are prevalent, and was subsequently described in this paper. This species could have a potential role as a biological control agent against certain eriophid species. Additionally, to this complementary description, an updated taxonomic key for Typhlodromus (Anthoseius) species reported from Egypt is provided.
