Summary: | Eleven new species of eriophyoid mites from the Tibet Autonomous Region, China, are described and illustrated. They are Disella polygonumae sp. nov. on Polygonum sp. K.Koch (Araliaceae), Calvittacus repandi sp. nov. on Mallotus repandus (Rottler) Müll.Arg. (Euphorbiaceae), Epitrimerus bellae sp. nov. on Rosa bella Rehder & E.H.Wilson (Rosaceae), Prominens brevitubuma sp. nov. on Viburnum brevitubum (P.S.Hsu) P.S.Hsu (Viburnaceae), Abacarus taiwanianae sp. nov. on Derris taiwaniana (Hayata) Z.Q.Song (Leguminosae), Aculops styphnolobii sp. nov. on Styphnolobium japonicum (L.) Schott (Fabaceae), Aculops piptanthus sp. nov. on Piptanthus nepalensis (Hook.) D.Don (Fabaceae), Aculus ramosissimae sp. nov. on Vicia ramosissima Franch. (Fabaceae), and Tetra sycopus sp. nov. on Sycopsis sinensis Oliv. (Hamamelidaceae). We re-described a new record, Callyntrotus duchesneae Xue, Song & Hong, 2011 on Fragaria orientalis Losinsk. (Rosaceae). All twelve species described herein are vagrants on their host plants. A list of eriophyoid mites from the Tibet Autonomous Region is provided. Additionally, we provided the mitochondrial cox1 gene sequences for 11 species here, except Calepitrimerus tetrapanaxi sp. nov. |
