Introduction/BackgroundThe surgery for ovarian cancer is a technically complex procedure in which the surgeon must be prepared to address a greater number of intra and postoperative complications. It is crucial to recognize and differentiate normal post-surgical findings from early complications in order to prevent an increase in patient morbidity and mortality, as well as unnecessary interventions.The clinical presentation is not always specific, thus making various imaging techniques extremely useful in this diagnostic challenge. These techniques will assist us in establishing an early diagnosis and determining the best therapeutic strategy.MethodologyDigestive, urological, vascular, or lymphatic complications, among others, should be considered in postoperative cytoreduction surgeries, and we must keep in mind both clinical presentation and the best imaging technique to confirm our suspicion. The video will demonstrate the usefulness of imaging techniques when clinically suspecting different post-surgical complications. While computed tomography is often the preferred techniques due to its high performance, speed, and widespread availability in many centers, it´s important to note that there are other modalities that can aid in early diagnosis. Understanding the limitation, advantages, and constraints of various imaging modalities is essential for resource.ResultsWhen detecting complications, we must consider the surgical steps undertaken in the surgical procedure. Collaborating with the radiologist, we can rapidly establish a diagnosis by correlating the surgical interventions with the imaging findings.ConclusionEarly detection of post-surgical complications allows us to act swiftly, thereby enhancing patients survival rates.
