Summary:Significant internal findings included subcutaneous bruising, enlargement of the prescapular and mesenteric lymph nodes, inflammation of the small and large intestinal mucosa, with focal thickening of the large intestinal mucosa, dark, watery small intestinal contents, and soft faeces in the rectum. Histopathological examination of intestinal samples demonstrated moderate, chronic, plasmalymphocytic and eosinophilic enteritis with intralesional coccidial organisms, mainly affecting the small intestine.
