Summary: | A foreign object that is penetrated in the tonsil can easily be seen if it is not covered with mucosa. [...]he was diagnosed with tonsillolithiasis. Volatile sulfur compounds forming anaerobic bacteria such as Eubacterium, Fusobacterium, Porphyromonas, Prevotella, Selenomonas, and Tannerella spp and Actinomycoses were detected in the tonsillolithiasis.1 If tonsillolithiasis is too large and accompanied by any complication, such as an upper respiratory tract infection, obstruction or signs of infection in the tonsils, antibiotics can be used around the time of removal.2 Question 3 The correct answer is C. The tonsil stone was removed using a swab. If the patient suffers from persistent problems, surgical removal of the tonsil may be required.3 Daily gargling with warm, salty water may help to clear the tonsils of debris and prevent the formation of stones. |
