Many consultants are on a 7.5:2.5 split of fixed:flexible sessions in a 10 PA contract, which equates to 30 hours (7.5×4) of clinics and operating theatre lists. The remaining 10 hours is for ward rounds, audit, letter writing, answering emails, and teaching.
