Summary:Metallurgical wastewater was not treated effectively when only neutralization method was used. Therefore, it is very necessary to propose a suitable treatment technology for metallurgical wastewater. A combination of reduction (using nano Feo), coagulation (PAC and PAM) and adsorption (MnO2 and ODM-2F adsorbent) processes could be used to enhance the removal of heavy metals in metallurgical wastewater. Heavy metals could be removed effectively by a series of processes, i.e. reduction, coagulation and adsorptionn. The heavy metal concentrations in treated wastewater could be controlled below the discharging regulation. During operation, aeration should be used for mixing chemicals (nano Feo, PAC and PAM) with wastewater. Nano Feo played an important role in reduction of heavy metals in metallurgical wastewater. The proposed treatment process could be used for metallurgical wastewater effectively.
