Summary:AbstractBackground: Cervical cancer ranks third in prevalence and fourth as cause of death in women worldwide. In Brazil, this disease still represents an important cause of death among women, especially in those who still have a reproductive desire. Squamous cell carcinoma still accounts for the vast majority of cases of cervical cancer, but adenocarcinoma has increased incidence in recent years. Methods: We present a case of a woman diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the cervix during pregnancy, with maintenance of chemotherapy during pregnancy and puerperal surgeryConclusions: The chemotherapeutic treatment showed to be safe during pregnancy with the chosen drug, without presenting significant changes to the fetus. Immediate postoperative surgery had a similar result; however, it was necessary to ligate the uterine arteries previously to reduce puerperal bleeding and not to compromise the maternal hemodynamic state.
