Summary: | PCI FIRST CHOICE FOR STEMI A prospective study of 26,205 consecutive ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients from Sweden summarises the national experience of primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), prehospital thrombolysis (PHT) and in-hospital thrombolysis (IHT) from 1999 to 2004 ( JAMA 2006 ; 296 : 1749 -56 ). Having made adjustments for known risk factors for ischaemic heart disease, the authors discovered an increased relative risk for myocardial infarction in psoriatic patients. |
