Summary:Esophageal cancer is a devastating disease with prolonged treatment course. Patients’ nutritional status and physical function are substantially deteriorated during treatment, which often led to declines in quality of life and emotional well-being. Little is known regarding the management of problems during cancer treatment in esophageal cancer patients. This article briefly overviews the problems during cancer treatment for patients with esophageal cancer, including malnutrition, physical function declines, and postoperative pulmonary complications. The main management strategies involved nutritional maintenance, increasing physical activity and improve pulmonary functions before surgery. We hope by increasing the awareness among professionals, early detection and timely intervention could be taken to improve the ability and quality of care.
食道癌的治療過程相當艱辛與漫長,多科治療使得病患的營養、身體活動功能急遽惡化,進而影 響生活品質與情緒安適。然而,目前探討食道癌病患之困境與照護的文章仍十分缺乏。本文的目的在回 顧過去的文獻,介紹食道癌病患在治療期間面臨的困境,如營養不良、身體活動功能惡化與術後肺部合 併症等,並提出相對應的照護策略,以期增加臨床照護人員對食道癌病患困境之
