Summary:The U–Pb (LA–ICPMS) age was established for detrital zircons from the oldest, intensely deformed metasedimentary complexes without reliable fossils’ record, which represent the folded basement of the North Kara basin and are exposed on Bol’shevik and Troinoi islands (Severnaya Zemlya and Izvestii TSIK archipelagoes, respectively). Our data suggest the common evolution of the Cambrian–Ordovician sequences exposed on the islands of both archipelagoes.
