Summary:This communication is dedicated to the spatial and temporal distribution of magmatism in the Frantz Josef Land (FJL) Archipelago with geodynamic interpretation of its tectonic zoning based on original field observations, radiological dating of basalt samples, and analysis of the anomalous magnetic field. The Frantz Josef Land Archipelago is surrounded by a shelf that crowns the block uplift of the basement located in the northern peripheral part of the Barents Sea continental margin.
