Summary:Mathematical models are developed for dispersion problems within a saturated granular medium in a unidirectional flow field in which the concentration of the displacing fluid is considered to be a function of time. The medium is assumed to be homogeneous, isotropic, and semi-infinite in areal extent. The effect of adsorbing and non-adsorbing granular media is taken into account. The models are useful for predicting the concentration of contaminants in representative field problems.
