This work pre sents the first results of UPb LA ICP MS isotope dating of detrital zircons, extracted from sandstones of the basal horizons of the Riphean stratotype sequence of the Southern Urals (Ai Formation, Burzyan Group of the Bashkir Meganticlinorium).
