Summary:β,γ-Unsaturated carbonyl compounds serve as versatile building blocks in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. Herein we reported the synthesis of β,γ-unsaturated carbonyl compounds from tetrafluoropyridine sulfides with vinyl halides. This cross-coupling reaction takes the advantage of photocatalysis, as well as zinc catalysis, which is preferred due to its less-toxic, earth abundant, and cost-effective nature.
