Summary:The flexible ligand 4,6-bis(3‘-pyridylmethylsulfanyl)dibenzofuran (L) was synthesized in a three-step reaction sequence. This new ligand was complexed with both AgClO4 and AgNO3, in a 1:2 metal-to-ligand ratio. The isomorphous structures were one-dimensional coordination polymers each containing a rare square-planar Ag(I) connector. The X-ray structures showed numerous π interactions.
