Summary:Established methods from user-centered design can be applied to the design of systems that support information interaction in the workplace. In order to gather data about current work practices, a number of different methods have been proposed in studies on information needs and information seeking behavior, including work-shadowing (Görtz, 2011), diary studies (Elsweiler et al., 2010), in-depth interviews (Kuhlthau, 2003) and questionnaires (Lim, 2009).
