Summary: | In 2015 Kelly Hilmer, after having been informed by a tip from a former employee, started digging in the Llewellyn Formation of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. After finding the first smoky quartz Hilmer obtained legal rights to the property, and in late June she began digging the site full-time. This initial digging was primarily by hand until August of 2015, when she began finding some incredible specimens: lots of scepters, parallel growths, and some of the most exotic combinations of habits ever seen in quartz specimens. |
