Reaction of the RMgX/Fe(CO)5/CuCl System with Alkynes: Novel Double Carbonylation Leading to Butenolides and Cyclobutenedione
Reaction of RMgX with Fe(CO)5 and CuCl leads to the formation of 1,2-diketones in moderate yields. The reagent system gives the corresponding butenolides and cyclobutenedione in the presence of alkynes.
