Abstract_FL This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of compound Lactobacillus preparation on the laying performance and egg quality of layers at the later laying period.A total of 4 800 57-week-old"Jingfen No.1"laying hens were randomly assigned to two groups,with three replicates of 800 layers.Layers in the control group were fed basal diet.The test group was fed basal diet supplemented with 0.05%compound Lactobacillus preparation.The experiment lasted for 28 d.The results showed that feed intake,average egg weight,and the ration of feed to egg,and the laying rate in the test group were no significant difference than those in the control(P>0.05).The proportion of unqualified eggs,broken eggs,soft eggs in the test group significantly reduced by 18.99%,18.49%and 23.08%compared with the control group(P<0.01).There is no significant effect on abnormal eggs(P>0.05).Egg shape index,eggshell strength,egg weight,protein height,and haugh unit in the test group were no significant difference than those in the control group(P>0.05),yolk color significantly increased by 10%(P<0.01)in the test group compared with the control group.In summary,the addition of 0.05%compound Lactobacillus preparation in the diet could significantly reduce the proportion of unqualified eggs,broken eggs,soft eggs and significantly increase the yolk color.
