Summary:A magnetic disk drive having a small decrease in lubricant film thickness on the surface of the magnetic disk and a superior sliding reliability between the magnetic head and the magnetic disk surface is supplied. Perfluoropolyether is supplied onto the surface of the magnetic disk using heat and air flow by applying perfluoropolyether onto the surface of a suspension, or impregnating Perfluoropolyether into a filter. Perfluoropolyether contains a component having a molecular weight smaller than 4000 by at least 40 %. Perfluoropolyether is dropped onto a plane facing to the magnetic disk of the suspension. The filter is impregnated with a specified perfluoropolyether, and the amount of impregnated perfluoropolyether is at least 0.15 -liter. Then, a magnetic disk drive having a superior reliability can be obtained.
