Abstract The authors observed 139 patients with severe closed abdominal trauma. Diagnosis of the injuries mentioned is often difficult. Performance of laparoscopy permits to establish correct diagnosis. Severity of the state is conditioned by extensive character of injury to the viscera, presence of traumatic shock and internal hemorrhage. Lethality in closed abdominal trauma is 3.6%.
