Summary:Political structure: Parliament consists of the 200-member Chamber of Deputies (the lower house) and the 81-member Senate (the upper house). Executive power is exercised by the prime minister, and the president is elected by parliament for a five-year term. The centre-right won an unexpected victory in the election to the Chamber of Deputies in May 2010, and a right-wing coalition comprising the Civic Democratic Party (ODS), TOP 09 and Public Affairs (VV) was formed.
