The cruise ran up a $30,000 bill at state expense. Easley also mentioned that one of the officials involved in approving the cruise, David King of the state Department of Transportation, no longer works for the state. The other official involved, Tom Eagar, who is head of the Ports Authority, has apologized and said he takes responsibility for any misuse of state funds. Easley will join Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and U.S. Sens. Hillary Clinton of New York and Tom Carper of Delaware. |
