Abstract | Combating enemy submarines grows more complex with new technology. To better detect, track, deter and destroy enemy submarines, the U.S. government has combined sensors and UUVs to create fused anti-submarine warfare (ASW) networks. These networks are processing greater amounts of data and images, requiring equipment that provides greater power levels and processing paths. A piece of equipment that is often overlooked in ASW net works is the interconnecting system. These connections can be the single point of network failures. Wet-mate connectors (WMCs) can provide flexibility in system design and architecture over the life of a given system. To combat these failures, Deeplinc has developed wet-mate connectors specifically for defense systems. Deeplinc's DL5500 wet-mate connector is the first major design disruption to the market in over 25 years. It meets the increased demand for higher reliability and eliminates current connector shortcomings for defense applications. |
