Summary: | In telling a tale for its Melbourne Writers Festival promo, JWT, Melbourne and Nexus-repped animation studio Mighty Nice decided to concoct a few of their own. Employing kinetic typography - wherein a change in subject is followed by a change in type - the sequence flows from genre to genre, depicting the variety of work that the festival, which ran in late August, had on display. Working with art director Softly Dunstan, "a font freak who has a million fonts", says Price, each disparate scene finds continuity via the type and character animation, but a non-animated element, the voiceovers, also did its part to provide the promo's thrust. |
